We’ve already established that I love food. A lot. But what I love even MORE are baked goods and dessert, so you can imagine how my waistline cowered yet my tastebuds rejoiced when Bloom Baking Co. moved into the City Market.
Oh yes, my friends. Cupcakes, whoopie pies, pastries, potato bread, challah–all made-from-scratch and deliciously tempting in their sweet, yeasty glory.
And you know I couldn’t leave without a treat! After some careful consideration, I opted for the hummingbird cupcake, a delightful concoction that combined a slightly dense, spice- and coconut-studded cupcake with the best buttercream frosting I’ve ever had, made even more delicious with a slight hint of lemon.
I’m already plotting a return trip for scones, cookies, bread–oh, who am I kidding? I’ll happily eat anything they make! And speaking of the baking process, be sure to check out Bloom’s kitchen, easily visible from the floor-to-ceiling windows next to the shop. Just make sure you don’t leave any drool on the window!
